There is two other upgrades that you will want to do if you haven’t already. That would be your Graphics/Video card
and your sound card. You went and got a game, you have the right amount of memory and your processor is up to speed and the
game won’t work! It’s your Graphics card or chip set it can’t run 3D. And having an older computer the one
thing you need to know is your AGP slot (the slot for graphics card ) is a Solt-1 and the newer AGP cards will not work in
it they are AGP Solt-2 ( you have all this information ,you got it from the manufacturer site when you did the other upgrades)
You can get the older cards but there only 4MB’s like the ATI 3D Rage Pro Turbo, they will fit and will work and only
cost $5.00 to $9.00 . You can find them at.. Computergeeks ( Just click the link below to check them out ) they sell
new, older, and discontinued computer parts a lot of them being brand new parts check them out. But you can get a new card
that will go in one of your PCI slots cost from $19.00 up to $300+. For the newer cards check Tiger Direct ( Just click the
link below to check them out) they sell new, overstock, open box, discontinued and refurbished . Remember we are just
trying to get your old computer up to speed and last a year or two more, so I would not go out and buy top of the line. When
shopping for graphics cards look for names like Ge Force or Radeon once again stay away from off brands.
How sound cards this will be short and sweet. They go in one of your PCI slots, the cost $25.00 to $300.00+.
I would say go with the Sound Blaster Live 5.1 cost $30.00 or the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 cost $70.00. Don’t forget
to get your 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers, they come with 5 speakers and a subwoofer cost $40.00 up to $300+.
